Music manifests through vibrations which change our experience of a given moment causing joy, pleasure, happiness. And yet, all the way through the making of this album, I returned to a sense of making something physical. Cobbling shoes was the enduring and somehow comforting image that carried me through the process. And so this CD is a physical object. For me, it's proof that it really happened. Some people, like me, want some sort of physical connection with the music they are listening to. If you are one of those people, this option is for you.

about

There are three ancient forms in traditional Irish music, the geantraí, the happy tune or dance tune, the suntraí, the lullaby and the goltraí, the sad tune or lament. The geantraí or dance tune has gained prominence in the contemporary repertoire but I really wanted to return also to the lullabies and the laments and to reflect the beauty of our ancient music in all of its forms.
