Music manifests through vibrations which change our experience of a given moment causing joy, pleasure, happiness. And yet, all the way through the making of this album, I returned to a sense of making something physical. Cobbling shoes was the enduring and somehow comforting image that carried me through the process. And so this CD is a physical object. For me, it's proof that it really happened. Some people, like me, want some sort of physical connection with the music they are listening to. If you are one of those people, this option is for you.

about
Composer Ciara Mc Elholm
The 11th Century Book of Invasions tells that when the Celts first arrived off the coast of Ireland, violent storms and tempests repelled them. Amergin moved to the front of the boat and called upon the spirit of Ireland through song. The Song of Amergin is a cultural entreaty, expressing the soul of a people. When Amergin sings, Ireland is wooed by the ancient wisdom of the Celts. The waves part and the Celts are granted safe passage to Irish shores. So beautiful to contemplate that our relationship with this island began with a song!
The words of the Song of Amergin reflect the pre-Christian spirituality of the early Celts. It reflects a belief in the oneness of the universe and everything in it, and a call to all of the different types of power we draw upon in the course of a life well lived. The desire to write a melody was overwhelming. Ancient meets modern, Amergin Awakening.
lyrics
I am the ocean breeze, I am the rolling wave,
I’m the bull of seven battles, the eagle on the rock.
I am the sunlight, I am the strong wild boar,
I’m the point of spear in battle, the lake upon the plain.
I, I am the sunlight, I am the sunlight, I am the rolling wave, (x2)
I, I am the bull of seven battles oh, I am the word (x2)
I am salmon in still water, the beauty of the word,
I am a hill of poetry, the God of Righteous wrath,
I am the word of knowledge, most beautiful of nature’s bounty,
I’m the ages of the moon, the refuge of the sun.
I, I am the sunlight, I am the sunlight, I am the rolling wave, (x2)
I, I am the word, the word of knowledge oh, I am the word, (x2)
I am
